Pumpkin Farm

Last weekend we were able to go to the Clinton Sease Farm, http://www.clintonseasefarm.com/, in Lexington, SC. It's only about 30 miles from us, so it was a fun way to spend our Saturday morning! Micah rolled around in some hay, rode a pony (for the first time), played with some "diggers", rode a tractor, went through a "corn snake" played in a "castle" and rolled around in a tube! We had such a great time! We may take my parents when they come down next weekend!

The Pledge

One of Micah's favorite things to do now is to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Ms. Leyla told Bart that he is the only one in his class that can say the whole thing! Whenever we see a flag, he yells, "American Flag" and then goes into reciting the pledge. So precious!

The past month

Hello friends and family. Our lives have been a little crazy this past month (hence, no blog updates). With Micah and I both starting school, the past month has been non-stop! Micah is LOVING school! He loves his teachers and is making friends. Below are some pics of "meet the teacher night", first day of preschool and the Teddy Bear Parade.

During meet the teacher night (August 16th), we were able to see take some pics of his classroom.

Teachers: Miss Leyla (lead teacher), Miss Courtney & Miss Love (assistants)

Later that night we went to Wal-Mart to get the mat that he needed to have for nap time. He wanted to try it out when we got home.

It was finally the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!!!! (August 18th)

Last week, Micah's preschool had the kids decorate shoe boxes and bring their favorite teddy bear to participate in the teddy bear parade.

Micah insisted on two things.
1) holding Ms. Love's hand
2) holding heart-beat bear

Micah was a little sad that mommy had to work and couldn't be there.

We took some pics at home later on that afternoon when I got home from work.

My best friend's wedding

I know this is such a cliche term, especially after the 1997 movie, but there is no other way to describe this past weekend. My younger sister, my best friend, married the love of her life on June 18th. The wedding was fun and honoring to Christ all at the same time!

Here are some of my favorite pics from the wedding weekend...

Summer Fun

Our neighbors are moving and (lucky for us) put this kitchen out by their trash. Micah wanted it the instant he saw it. The next morning we went to Target to get some pretend food. Bart and I are loving all of the meals that are being prepared for us!

The YMCA by our neighborhood has a splash pad that is free for members. We went yesterday and joined! We are looking forward to many fun days at the "water park" (as Micah call it).

Happy Father's Day

I know this post is several days late, but I could not let this opportunity go by without telling you why Bart is such a great dad! Bart is one of those people that is not hard to love. His warm spirit and fun personality make him one of the greatest people to be around! I fell in love with Bart for those reasons and because of his love for Christ! It has been such a joy to walk beside him in ministry for the past 4.5 years. His love for people and God's Word is what makes him such a great minster! When I was pregnant, I wrote down some of Bart's qualities that I hoped Micah would have.

These include...
1. the way he loves people
2. the way he gives grace so freely to others
3. his patience
4. his patience (not a typo)
5. his love for the Lord
6. his kind spirit

These traits are what make Bart an amazing father!

Bart, thank you loving Micah and I so well! Thank you for your kindness, patience and grace with me. I have loved being on this parenthood journey with you. Thank you for allowing me to make mistakes and for stepping in when I've needed you the most. You're so great and I feel blessed that we have you!
Love you babe!
Happy Father's Day!
