Best friends already

Most of our morning "wake time" is spent on a blanket in the living room or on our bed. Micah likes to look at the lights and out the window when he's on his back and pick up his head when he's on his tummy. This particular morning, Shelby decided to join us. It was so sweet to see her interact with Micah in such an innocent way. Micah doesn't mind Shelby sniffing him or even giving him a kiss every now and then. :)

Precious daddy time

For whatever reason, Micah has had a hard time with gas today. His morning has been filled with off and on crying...which means no nap! Bart happened to be off today, so I asked him if he would take care of him so that I could catch a much needed nap. When I woke up this is what I found. These are the moments that take my breath away!

Future Gymnist

I had to share the excitement....Micah rolled over today!!! Nesie and I put him on his belly while we were folding clothes. We both stepped out of the room for a second and came back to find Micah on his back. We probably scared him because we both started screaming. I scooped him up to kiss him and tell him how proud I was of him. Nesie got on line and found that babies don't normally roll over until they are 11-12 weeks. He could have just gotten lucky, but I like to think that Micah's a genius!

Latest Stats...

Micah and I went to the pediatrician yesterday for a check-up. She said he looks great and is growing perfectly! He now weighs 10lbs. 2oz. and is 22 in. long. From birth, he has gained 2lbs. 4 oz. and has grown 2 in. in length. He is now starting to outgrow many of his clothes. I cannot believe that Micah is already 5 weeks old! We are so proud of how he is growing and developing! We love you Micah!!!!

Going to church

Sunday was a big day for us...first day of church! I was so anxious to get back to church. I missed being able to worship with our church family. Daddy couldn't be in the picture because he was already at work.

Micah went to his class, called "Bed Babies". Outside his class was a bulletin board announcing all of the new arrivals. We found Micah's announcement at the bottom (he's the newest member).

This is how I found Micah when I came to pick him up after church. I'm glad to see that he slept through church for the first time :)

Micah meets my other "kids"

I've always called my students my kids, but now that I have a child of my own I either need to refer to them as my "other kids" or actually call them students. I took a trip to school to visit them and have them meet Micah for the first time. Micah slept the whole time...not phased at all by the noise. Even though I have enjoyed this time with my beautiful son, I have missed my "other kids". I'm returning to work March 30th.

Sweet Gift

One of our middle school youth parents owns an incredible photography business and asked us to bring Micah to her studio when he was a week old. We're so glad we have these memories to cherish forever!

Heather tagged me in a blog game. We have been through a lot together and are now enjoying motherhood together. This was at her parent's beach house in NC. We get together with 3 of our other college friends twice a year to hangout and continue our friendships :)

Micah was so cute today in his Valentine's outfit :) It was a gift from a woman that I work with.

Has it really been 4 weeks?

It's hard to believe that a month has gone by! Micah is growing more and more everyday. His face is changing all the time. He is definitely more alert and looking around a lot. You can tell he can see farther because he's not crossing his eyes as much. He loves to lay on a blanket and look at lights or out the window. He's doing well on his tummy also. He lifts his head and kicks his legs. It's amazing how strong he is! Enjoy these pics from his 4th week of life :)

3 weeks old

We can't believe that Micah is already 3 weeks old! He's doing great, and Bart and I are enjoying every minute! Here are some pics that we took today.

First Bath

We gave Micah his first bath tonight. Daddy did a good job of making sure the water was warm, and mommy tried to get to the "hard to reach"places. He really seemed to enjoy the warm water and the freedom to pee whenever he wanted.

2 weeks...

I can't believe that 2 weeks has already gone by...we love our sweet boy SO much!
