Fun Week
This past week was my spring break. Bart and I were really excited to have both of our parents come down. Grandpa and grandma (my parents) came Tuesday- Thursday. It was fun to have them here for my 29th birthday. We enjoyed going to the zoo...

out to eat...
and just being together. They definitely enjoyed loving on Micah and seeing all of the ways he had changed since they saw him last.

What a week...
This week has been quite an experience. I returned to work on Monday, leaving Micah for the whole day for the first time. I cried early that morning just thinking about the fact that I wasn't going to be with him all day. Then I cried all the way to work after dropping him off. But once I got to school, I had to take off my "mommy hat", put on my "teacher hat" and get right back into the swing of things. It's amazing how "normal" things felt after being gone for 2 1/2 months. It helped to have my kids all run up to give me hugs and say "Welcome back Ms. Cook, we missed you". Everyone at school has been great...stopping by my room to check on me, ask about Micah, look at pics, etc. And I feel extremely loved by family and friends who have called, emailed and texted me all week to make sure I was doing OK. Now that the week is almost over, all I can say is being a working mom is the hardest thing in the world! I have so much respect for all moms who work. It takes a lot of strength, energy and organization!
We have been so blessed to have such a great woman watching Micah during the day while I'm at work. The Camerons are a great couple that go to our church. They have the coolest story. Jeff is American and Cris is from the Philippines. They fell in love through writing letters to each other over the course of several years. I have gotten to know Jeff as I work with him at school. They have two children... Zerena is 8 and Simon is 4. Simon has had a lot of fun hanging out with Micah during the day, and always is waiting to open the door for me when I pick up Micah in the afternoon. It's such a great feeling to know that your child is being so well taken care of. We couldn't ask for a better situation. I always walk into the house to find Cris playing with Micah or helping him exercise his legs. She swears she can get him walking early (Simon walked at 8 months).
