Christmas '08

We had a great Christmas this year! We were so thankful to be able to travel and see our families. I had to get the OK from the doctor (being 36 weeks) in order to come to North Carolina. Luckily, the news was what I wanted to hear. Woo Hoo!!

This Christmas was definitely a tad bit different than others. First
, Micah has a stocking at Grandma & Grandpa's. He received gifts at both houses, I had to sit and relax more than usual, I couldn't get up and pass out presents (I had to sit and receive...darn!), Abbey had to put on my socks for me and I had to take off my wedding rings last night because of swollen fingers.Cook family photo '08Just the ladies...Micah got a basket of books and toys from Santa :)Nesie and I got some sentimental baby gifts from BartMicah got a blanket from grandma and grandpaHeather and I on Christmas morningPirate booties for Micah :)

Girl Pampering...

We drove to Burlington yesterday morning to celebrate Abbey's 25th birthday! Little did we know that Denise (Bart's mom) had planned a little pampering for us as an early Christmas present. Abbey and Megan (Wes' girlfriend) got a facial and a pedicure, while I was treated to a pre-natal massage!! Oh my gosh!!!! It was the best I have felt in a LONG time. The past several weeks have been difficult...not feeling attractive, uncomfortable, indigestion, etc. So this was the perfect treat!!! Thanks Nesie!!!!!!!

Is it bad???

Ok...so I haven't even had Micah yet, and I'm already ready to lose my baby weight. I was looking through some old pics, and stumbled on this one from last March. I had just lost 15 lbs. and felt better than I had ever felt in my life! Is it bad to be dreaming about a post-pregnancy bod? I know I have to be realistic, but this pic gives me something to strive for...

Nesie and Pop

Showers, Showers , Showers...

The precious girls in our college ministry and their moms threw us a baby shower last Sunday afternoon. This was only about half of the people there. We forgot to take the picture before people started leaving.
These were the hostesses...Dana, Megan and Lauren. I have had the pleasure of walking through the good and bad of life with these girls over the past two years. They are precious to me!
The "loot".
I was able to see some old friends yesterday that I worked with for 4 years at my last school. It was great to see them and get a chance to reconnect!

Maternity Photos

FINALLY!

Our nursery is finally done! All we need is the chair and a mattress.

We've had the crib for awhile, but didn't want to put it together until we knew it matched the crib. Well, it matches PERFECTLY! We had planned on putting it together Saturday, but I was woken up by Bart at 6am on Saturday mornin
g to find the crib already put together! Woo Hoo!! The crib was a gift from both grandparents. :)

We picked up the dresser last Monday, but were only recently able to get it "unwrapped" (it came fully assembled).
